Global Design Project - CASE-ing a KING!

31 October 2016

#GDP060
I love it when we get to CASE team designers on the Global Design Project for 'CASE the Designer' challenge. This week we are getting our inspiration from the mega-super-dupa amazingly talented and handsome Brian King. (You can pay me later Brian! *wink)

The definition of CASE: Copy And Share Everything
Put simply, we get our inspiration from a particular project or creation. For this challenge we can use ANY element. You might be inspired by the colours, the stamp set or the card layout.
Here's the things I CASE'd from Brian's card this week:
  1. Layout including Brian's signature layers
  2. The Crumb Cake base
  3. Pink and white background
  4. Using two different stamp sets on the one card
  5. The two different colours in the sentiment
I have had the Best Birds stamp set for a little while now and have yet to create with it. I really liked it for this challenge with it to the side like Brian's bear.

I watercoloured the bird with the Aqua Painter. The sentiment is from the Grateful Bunch stamp set and used the Stampin' Write Markers to created the two colours on the sentiment - again, keeping with the Brian theme.
Brian King has been one of my all-time favourite people for a long time and over the years we have built a friendship that goes beyond stamps and papercrafting. I really enjoyed CASE-ing Brian this week and this card is for him - because, well, I truly do love him - a lot! (And I'm sure he won't mind one bit that I give him a pink polka dot bird card!) Brian's original CASE card is one of many of my favorites that he has made, but I need to boast that this CASE card was actually made for me and I will treasure it forever. I truly would love a Brian bear hug right about now. You can see the original post for the his card >here<.

Now to head on over to the Global Design Project and see the amazing projects the Design Team has for you!

  1. Oh, Louise! You couldn't have made a more beautiful card. I've not been a huge fan of this bird - but now I love it! You have such an amazing style, and I always look forward to seeing what you make. I'm especially excited since this week is my challenge - and my challenge card was for you. Much love, my dear, talented friend.
