Be Inspired Design Team Hop

24 August 2017

Welcome to the Be Inspired Design Team Blog Hop. You may have just arrived here from my beautiful friend Sarah Berry from the UK. If you are starting here please make sure you hit the next button at the bottom of this post and hop all the way around.

The theme for this hop is 'Be Inspired by Birthdays'.

The best stamp set I thought I could use for this card is Happy Celebrations. I wanted to create an all wood-grain card for my younger brother Sam, as he builds timber/sustainable surfboards. (His boards are gorgeous pieces of artwork all hand pieced and chambered - it's an incredible process.) Stampin' Up! have THE BEST Designer Series Paper for achieving the perfect wood-grain effect called Wood Textures.

Next up to 'Be Inspired' by is my talented and fabulous friend Brian King from the the US.

If you live in Australia I would love to be your demonstrator! You can click on any of the items below and purchase them from my ONLINE SHOP: AUGUST HOSTESS CODE: J6PE3S4H.

Sharing Sweet Thoughts RMDH - Stampin' Up! Artisan Blog Hop

18 August 2017

Welcome to the Artisan Design Team Blog Hop. You may have just arrived here from my lovely friend Kimberly Van Diepen from the US - I am in love with her project.

Today the Artisan Design Team are highlighting the lovely Sharing Sweet Thoughts stamp set from page 233 of the Annual Catalogue. This stamp set helps support the Ronald McDonald House Charities all over the world and in monies stay in the same market where you purchased your stamp set. If you purchase this set in Australia, Stampin' Up! will donate $3 from every set sold to a RMHC within Australia - pretty cool....I love this company!

The Stamp-a-ma-jig is a fabulous tool and a staple item in my craftroom and I used it to line up the strawberries perfectly in the jar. I used the coordinating Everyday Jar Framelits to cut the jar and the lid. The new Gingham Ribbon in Night of Navy coordinated with the lid of the jar and I will admit to really liking how this card came together! The strawberries were coloured with a Stampin' Write Marker in Real Red and Old Olive using a Blender Pen.

Next on the hop is my talented friend Maike Ulbrich from Germany. I am always so inspired by her.

Global Design Project 100 - CASE the Designer!

14 August 2017

OH MY GOODNESS - IT'S OUR 100th CHALLENGE! The Global Design Project Design Team is celebrating our 100th challenge this week and we are super excited....and if you play along you could win a prize and a card from one our designers.

The Details: Each designer has created a new card.  Participants in this week's challenge will CASE one of the cards - or participate multiple times and CASE several cards.  At the end of the week, each Design Team Member will be mailing his/her card to one person who CASE'd him/her AND an overall winner will received a small assortment of goodies from the team.

Today's card was inspired by a tag I demonstrated at my Stamp Retreat over the weekend. We had so much fun and I will share a full post all about it during the week.
I have been playing with the new embossing paste and even though I thought it wouldn't be something I would like - because my style is clean and I had in my head the paste would be messy - I absolutely love it! It's so much fun and adds a lovely texture and dimension to any project. I dyed some of the paste with a Crumb Cake Ink Refill and used the paste on Whisper White Cardstock for the base layer to coordinate with the tag, which is white paste on Crumb Cake Cardstock.

My awesome older brother, Bob Willetts, dropped by our Stamp Retreat over the weekend and I put him to work giving him a demo with the embossing paste! He was a good sport and gave it go - and you can see the sheer excitement on this face (or possible sarcasm - but lets go with excitement!)

Now head on over to the Global Design Project to see the amazing Design Team and what they have in store for us this week and why not play along - you could win!

Be Inspired Blog Hop

10 August 2017

Welcome to the Be Inspired Design Team Blog Hop. You may have just arrived here from my beautiful friend Sarah Berry from the UK. If you are starting here please make sure you hit the next button at the bottom of this post and hop all the way around.

The theme for this hop is 'Be Inspired by Architecture'.

SNEAK PEEK TIME!
The upcoming Holiday Catalogue is loaded with fresh new holiday and seasonal products that are set to knock your socks off!! When I first laid eyes on the A Beachy Christmas stamp set I was bursting with excitement - I know Stampin' Up! didn't make this just for me, but lets run with that idea! *wink

The architecture I was inspired by is obviously these little adorable beach houses. I have two amazing surfing brothers and we have been discussing going on a sibling road trip - in stamp land this is what it looks like - we all have our own beach cottage, which is just perfect because they could get up early and go surfing I could sleep in! (No, I don't surf, but if I did you all know my board would be pink right?!)

I stamped the houses with Black Archival Ink and lined them up using the Stamp-a-ma-jig and coloured them with a Blender Pen and ink from the lids.

Customers - you can Join and put this stamp in your Starter Kit or you will have to wait until next month to order!

Next up to 'Be Inspired' by is my awesome friend Brian King from the the US. You will love his project for this theme this week and now I've added the stamp set he used to my wish list!
